From Volunteering to Employment Program (VE Program) MindPlus Counselling & Consulting Services
Starting this summer of 2020, MindPlus Counselling & Consulting Services is offering a new program to help school and community volunteers get prepared to be excellent workers. Volunteers will use their skills and passion along with training from MindPlus to do a variety of tasks. Volunteer hours meet basic requirements for applying for university or college programs. It also provides university graduates and job applicants the required amount of volunteer hours or work experience. If you’re applying for a university program or a job that requires more hours of volunteering, the total volunteer hours can be extended for you. The special part of the program: after participating in free training and gaining volunteer work experience at MindPlus, you may have an opportunity to work for MindPlus. Step 1: Free volunteer training, 3 hours (covers the topics below, in two sessions)

[*]Volunteer jobs and job descriptions
[*]Intra and interpersonal skills
[*]Positive thinking
[*]How to manage time, finance, and plan your study and life
[*]Understand peoples’ character and apply in social life
[*]How to be a positive influence in friendships
[*]How to improve the cognitive relationship between you and yourself, other people, and society
[*]How to write a resume
[*]How to use your knowledge and skills to achieve your dreams and goals
[*]How to quickly adapt to a new position

Step 2: Volunteer hours (Volunteers can choose what kind of work/hours they do, eg. in-person or online, one or multiple types of work below；The volunteer is required to have a computer or a cell phone)

[*]Create a poster in English and/or Chinese
[*]Recruitment and workshop promotion

[*]Write or design newsletter
[*]Poster design and/or distribution

[*]Childcare services for workshops
[*]Photography/video recording/editing
[*]Volunteer Trainer
[*]Trainer Assistant
[*]Training Evaluator

Step 3: Paid work opportunities (after finishing the first two steps, volunteers, who have completed 40 hours, have the opportunity to be hired for one or multiple roles--complying with the legal working age, volunteers will be paid according to their experience in cheque or equal online/offline MindPlus vouchers)

更新：培训有两场，都是线上的：第一场 September 3 & 4, 2020 @ 7-8:30 pm, 语种： 英语 PPT和讲解都是英语
第二场 September 10 &11, 2020 @ 7-8:30 pm, 语种： 国语中文，PPT是中英双语
义工工作和工作：线上， 或线下， 或线上线下二者综合
关于义工时间 问：有的人已经有了10多个小时的义工经验，只需要30 小时或更少来报名大学， 是否可以参加这个项目？
答： 是的， 可以参加的， 多少小时都行， 3小时，5小时都可以， 没有时间限制
问： 有的人参加了免费培训，然后觉得不适合自己，不打算继续这个项目可以吗？
答：可以，没问题， 义工工作可以不继续，义工是自愿的。
